art inspired: roberto dutesco, chasing wild horses

l

On my way to Germany a few months ago, I spent the morning in New York and was drawn like a magnet into the Samuel Owen Gallery to better view Roberto Dutesco's larger than life wild horse images up close and personal. These mammoth photos of one of the world's last herd of wild horses have made the rounds on design blogs for years it seems, but seeing them all together in a large space was pretty great. The gallery gave me Chasing Wild Horses, Roberto's documentary about his personal journey that took him from the life of a top fashion photographer of Victoria Secret beauties and Vogue couture to his ultimate subject: the untouched beauty of Sable Island's wild horses.

This week's fashion inspired post looks to the unexplainable connection we all feel with the mythic quality of wild horses.

you nailed it...
how you chose which dutesco photo use is beyond me, each one is more moving than the next...but that "smoocher" one is pretty darn perfect...
love this post.

I can't stop staring at that bathing suit! Maybe it's the colours and the silhouette of the horse, there's just something sublime about it... even now as I'm typing I'm still staring at it. Don't know if I'd ever wear it though.. but I may just get it to look at.
