art inspired: paul gauguin, day of the gods
Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Paul Gauguin chucked his career as a Paris stockbroker to move half way around the world and live in a hut in Tahiti, but historians claim that his life was not nearly as wild or exotic as Gauguin's fusion of modern shapes with primitive colors and subjects depicted. When you look at his work, does it really matter if his bright and mystical world was real or imagined?
Today's art inspired fashion post is full of bright and happy separates that would all work as statement pieces with the plainest of ensembles...then again, if you're in the mood to turn heads they'd look great meshed together. Are you in a rainbow state of mind this January?

McQueen Electric Blue Leather Biker Jacket; Bottega Veneta platform sandals; Dolce & Gabbana Rainbow chiffon print dress; Marc by Marc Jacobs PC Tablet case; Bottega Veneta bag; YSL rouge lipstick; Heather Moore necklace; Maui Jim sunglasses.

PS: It was lovely to read your comment on Robin Wright. She has always been beautiful and charming and what I would really love to see is a photo of her carrying your bag that year to the Oscars :)
