friday catch up

The other big news is that after six and a half years, Trust Your Style has finally decided to accept related advertising. Please feel free to contact me at trustyourstyle@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to find out about how you can advertise. We have options for every budget!

I also wanted to let you know how great it's been to see familiar faces over at my new street style site! Like all new things, there have been surprises, and one of those is how much I've enjoyed getting a chance to cover men's style alongside women's style. I worked as a men's stylist for years, and am having so much fun documenting the way relaxed style plays out along the pacific coast highway. One of the things that happens in my hood, as well as many other California beach towns, is that people knock off early on Friday's to surf. So if you haven't yet dropped by, make sure to catch the new weekly Surf Friday post over at On PCH!

Finally, speaking of stylish men, today would've been my dad's birthday. I decided early on after he passed away that I would try and celebrate this day rather than the day he died, because he had so much energy and was all about living life. This year I'm proud to say that he's included on the ALS Association's Wall of Honor: a visual tribute recognizing our military heroes with Lou Gehrig's Disease/ALS as well as those veterans we already have lost to the disease. Military Veterans are approximately twice as likely to die from ALS as those in the general population. You can read some of their stories of courage by clicking on the Wall of Honor.
Wishing you a wonderful Halloween weekend--hope it's a sweet one! Meet you back here next Monday for more stylish goodness!

Love the new look and the tribute to your dapper dad! I take the same philosophy as you -- I celebrate my dad on his birthday, not the anniversary of his death. Luckily for me his birthday was July 4th so the entire country celebrates with me! : )
What a lovely tribute.
Hugs to you, Mary Joe!

I love this image of your Dad. I see so much of him in your face! I also focus on my Dad's birthday each year rather than the anniversary of his passing. I pray that some treatment is found for ALS and that the world recognizes the struggle all of us with chronic disabling diseases face every day. I applaud you for continuing to shine a spotlight on the ongoing battle against ALS.
Ruth xoxo
