Missoni: Italian Eye Candy Turning Japanese

Not to burst the blogosphere's love affair with the Target/Missoni collaboration, but the real deal this fall is every shade of sugar candy dip-dyed and cut as Japanese as an Issey+Kenzo+Yoji+Comme des+Kawakubo ensemble.

Add a swathe of snakeskin wide enough to make Ozzie Clark collectors swoon, a dollop of deep candy apple lips and the ever funky signature Missoni eyewear...

Voila! It's fall in the fairytale land of Missoni, with a departure so far from the world of Target that tried and true collectors won't have a feather ruffled by the cut rate version, that is unless they don the fluffy multi-pastel hued maxi skirt hot off the runway.

So, my little fashion birdies, which way do you fly? Classic Missoni colors at affordable prices or psychedelic late century modern couture?

I am not bold enough for taking on the modern couture version, Mary Jo. I'm sticking to the classic prints (and accessories would be my very first choice). Hope you're having a beautiful week! xo

nothing but brilliance here in these collections.

Can I love both? Is that allowed? No, obviously I love the runway show--- how could I not? I am excited about the Target line (although personally my favorite piece is a quilt), but this trumps it any day!

2 words--- cotton-candy snuffleupagus. It IS pretty but the cheap in me picks target!

Being a victim of the "classic" style I stick to the classic Misoni but I admit that the modern couture looks gorgeous too!!!

I'm with Alexis, my favorite piece in the Target line is the quilt. I'm usually disapointed with the Target collaborations. The fabric and make is just SO cheap. I don't mind buying T-shirts and detergent at Target, but not designer clothing! I'll take the real thing any day, though I can't afford it AT ALL. It is beautiful Love that fur skirt.
