Today's Eye on Style guest is one of my favorite fashion blog reads, the beautiful Ada, whose gorgeous daily posts on her blog Classiq, are the marriage between fashion and classic movies. I love how she incorporates cinematic references in many of her posts--an often overlooked aspect of fashion that has more to do with style than trend.

location: Bucharest, Romania
wearing: H&M dress, Musette shoes, improvised necklace
occupation: I've worked in fashion retail, in Marketing and Buying, for several years. In the meantime, along with my husband, have started our own business, in a totally different field which has more to do with my International Business and Economics degree. However, my heart is in fashion and design, which is the reason why I started my blog (a great tool to define my taste and style and to express myself), and I'm currently working on a few fashion related projects I'm hoping to materialize in the near future.
favorite designers: Chanel, for her innovative creativity, for revolutionizing fashion, for her lessons in style, for all the items in our wardrobe that we now take for granted, but we owe to her; Karl Lagerfeld for the way he carries on the legacy of Chanel; Cristóbal Balenciaga, the master of haute couture, for his vision of fashion as art, for his architectural designs and impeccable tailoring; Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani, two modern classics. I also love Etro prints and Bottega Veneta for the most beautiful braided-leather bags there are. From high-street fashion my favourites are Massimo Dutti and Banana Republic, their clothes have a comfortable elegance or a chic casualness you can always count on for that much coveted effortless look.
what style means to Ada: Style is such a complex concept, it's more an attitude than anything else. It's about who you are as a person, about wearing what is suitable for your figure and what is in perfect accordance with your personality. It's a means of expressing yourself, it's about self-confidence, about manners, about a perfect smile, the way you live your life.
Everyone has his own definition of style and for me it is closely related to elegance and naturalness. It has so little to do with fashion and trends, it's about past collections and timeless items you learn how to work for you every season with little tricks, about choosing quality over quantity, about less is more. I always pay the most attention to details and accessories, I believe that shoes and bags are the pieces you should invest the most in. It's important to experiment, but if you find your own personal style, you should stick to it, as Audrey Hepburn used to say. Nobody is perfect and what looks good on someone else might look awful on you, so I've learned that the first step to finding the style that perfectly defines you is to learn how to highlight your best assets and just be yourself.
