eye on style: erika from cafe fashionista

I'm back with another Eye on Style, and hope you're enjoying this series as much as I'm loving having stylish guests stop by! Today I'm happy to introduce you to one of my favorite bloggers, Erika of the popular Cafe Fashionista.
Erika's blog is fun and upbeat, she always makes me smile and leaves me with a happy song or fabulous deal to think about. For those of you not familiar with Cafe Fashionista, you must check out Tightwad Tuesdays, where Erika compares a major luxe brand with a very similar but more affordable option. She also has lots of other fun weekly posts. I think you're going to enjoy meeting Erika!
occupation: Currently – and I’m attributing this to the fact that I not only work full-time, but also go to college full-time – I’m a very busy bee. I do various forms of freelance work (from writing to administration) for numerous newspapers, magazines, and websites, and the rest of my time is spent studying (I'm applying to an MBA program in the next few weeks) or shopping (as a fashion blogger, shopping is research - remember that!). So I guess you could say that I’m a fashion blogger/college student/freelance writer/aspiring author (I have a complete book on style written - sadly, no publisher or agent yet; and am planning on beginning a novel in the next few weeks - I'm currently in the outlining process). I wear many hats – and I adore them all! :)
location: I live in a suburb in Southern California (close to both Los Angeles and San Diego ) by way of Brooklyn, New York.
wearing: Purple tunic I picked up at Kohl's (it came with the black woven belt), Steve Madden Maryn Boots in Black, black leggings, and a black oversized cocktail ring from Wet Seal. My shoes are always the most expensive part of my wardrobe - I'm always splurging in that area!
favorite designers: I'm currently going through a strong Rebecca Minkoff phase. I'm obsessed with her handbags - I like the fact that they're roomy yet perfect for any occasion; though I'll be honest, much of my adoration for her collection has to do with the names (the Morning After Bag, the Endless Love Straw Tote...) - I kind of can't resist them. I'm also a huge fan of Diane von Furstenberg, Halston Heritage, and Alice + Olivia. I like elegance that borderlines on playful, and all three tend to embody that in their designs.
what style means to erika: Freedom! Style is all your own, and allows you to express yourself. There's nothing better than that!

What fun and kudos to Erika for having gone ahead and written a book without a deal, I would need a signed contract to motivate me so it must be a passion for her.
