The Beautiful Organic Pharmacy

One of the things I love most about my job as a luxury beauty editor is the pampering. So much of my time as a manufacturer is spent in stress inducing conversations: strategic planning, goal-setting, trend forecasting, manufacturing bumps and glitches, problem-solving, and dealing with totally stressed contractors who are under a huge work burden themselves before I even show up at their door. While I love developing and designing my own line and wouldn't trade it for the world, indulging in truly decadent beauty rituals for my column brings me back to a balanced state of mind and reminds me how truly blessed I am to be experiencing the best of both worlds.

how do you see your beautiful future?

I have two young women who intern for me and talking with them each week reminds me how we have so many hopes and frustrations when we're first starting out; yearning to find our way but not having a clue about how to do it tempered with fantasies of how things will be. It's amazing how much control we really have in guiding our destiny. When you picture your future five years from now, do you see yourself burdened with work, shoulders heavy with responsibilities? Or do you see a fun happy vision of the future? While I do have my share of responsibility, I thank God I was always envisioning spending lots of time at the spa when I was younger!

So back to the latest in beauty...this week I experienced the Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial at The Organic Pharmacy in Beverly Hills. I know some women {and men} are big facial junkies. I'm not one of them. People always squint and check out my skin when they find out I'm a beauty editor, but because I have really sensitive skin, I've learned to keep it looking good by religiously moisturizing, not over-cleansing, and never doing too much fancy stuff to it. I was a bit reluctant to try out a 90 minute facial, but since I knew that the ingredients would be completely organic and was assured that it wouldn't make my skin break out, I went ahead--and if I have to admit it, knowing that there was going to be an accompanying arm, hand, foot and scalp massage was a big factor.

I was completely blown away by how good it made me feel! The rose crystals and acupressure massage will completely lift your mood and your skin will of course, will look gorgeous when you're finished! If you're feeling in need of some ultimate pampering just in time for Valentine's Day, this is definitely the way to go! The Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial is a luxurious treatment that begins with Lavender-infused deep breathing exercises, followed by deep cleansing, exfoliation, steaming and extraction. Four luxurious masks of Rosehip, Seaweed, Honey & Jasmine and Collagen are applied, with intensive hands, arms, feet, face, décolleté and scalp massage using Organic Pharmacy's nourishing Hair Serum.

you can do it at home!

Live far away from Beverly Hills? Want to experience a slice of heaven in the privacy of your own spa-like bathroom? It's absolutely doable. Here are the products I recommend:

Flower Petal Deep Cleanser & Mask is organic rose yumminess bottled up in a jar. Trust me, it will make your skin soft and smooth while it purifies, calms and cleans your skin. Next, try this:

Don't let the slender bottle fool you! I kept asking the therapist what it was she was using on me because it smelled absolutely amazing. Nicknamed 'the instant facelift oil', The Organic Pharmacy's Antioxidant Face Firming Serum smells of orange, floral and cypress trees--I was somehow reminded of driving in a convertible through the Italian countryside--I kid you not! At least that was the hypnotic spell I was under during the treatment!

Finish off with the Expression Treatment that plumps, fills, and smooths your skin--not that I needed that they were quick to tell me. Haha, I will partake in Expression Treatment any day!

Well I'm off for more pampering and hope that you are taking time to relax and unwind from the demands of the week as well.

This may sound strange, but I can't see myself in five years right now. Honestly, I can't even see where I'll be in six months. Everything is so up in the air at the moment. I'm just trying to focus on one day at a time. I do have lots of dreams, but getting through school first is priority. After that's finished, the real planning and excitement begins.

My blog has been my resource to my fustration and help me discover and keep reaching for my goals and dreams. we all need an outlet outside of work, whether it is volunteering, blogging or a dinner club!

Spa days are a must! I've been itching to get back for maybe a massage or a facial! at the very least to get my nails done!

Ah, if these products could make me relax a bit more; and see less work and far more play in my future, I am all over them! They sound fantastic; and the spa itself sounds like such a relaxing location! :)

Oooh...I am SUCH a fan of facials, and I use almost entirely organic beauty products these days, so I would love this, I'm sure.

You know that idea to switch jobs for a bit? I'd like to do it when you are wearing the spa hat - not the other. This does sound wonderful.

I love spa treatments but not a fan of just facials. about the 5 yr plan that was exactly what i was pondering just now. i'm planning to open an online eco-trendy lifestyle store this year (now adding to my inventory list some fabulous organic skincare/personal care line + some gorgeous jewelry brands!). so fingers (and toes) crossed i will make that little dream of mine come true soon!

happy pampering xx

Oh I haven't had a facial in AGES! I used to love them, though I know what you mean about being scared that they can make you break out. That happened to me once and it scared me off facials for years.

Thank you so much for all your comments on my blog. I really appreciate it!

*seething jealousy* directed at this post my dear.
Gah, this sounds heavenly... I am always on the hunt for a good mask since they discontinued the rando-off-brand-pharmacy stuff that I LOVED to bits. Will have to try this one out.
Also, I am intrigued by anything called an "expression treatment" I wonder if people would peep in my medicine cabinet and get the wrong idea? My peeps are MAJOR peepers!

I agree...I'm not a huge fan of facials. My skin is horrifically sensitive. Ridiculous, to be precise. But that sounds heavenly. I hope you're doing well. I've been awful at keeping in touch lately. But I still love ya to bits.

have a great weekend.

These products look heavenly! What a luxe experience :) I'm in this phase where I'm always envisioning my life 5 years from now, but that vision changes with the wind. Hopefully soon I can find one vision and make it happen.
