Just checking in to say hello. I'm still a little under the weather so I'll be skipping today's Business of Style posting, which will hopefully give me some time to work on my own taxes...
Sometimes a little downtime can be a good thing. A slower pace gives you time to think, regroup and get clear about priorities. Like all of you, I'm trying to keep this patchwork life balanced--spending time with friends, getting my home in order, working on new projects.
One piece I'm adding back into life's patchwork mix is a beauty routine, which despite the fact that I'm a beauty editor, is usually the first thing to go out the window when life gets busy. Yesterday I had a wonderful hair cut from Jennifer Baker at the Shanghai Salon--which I won from Katie Osumi of Goodnite Irene, actually I won it on her other blog Core Play, and of course I was ecstatic because I REALLY need to find a good hair person down here in the OC. I can't thank you both enough! Nothing like a good hair cut/style to make you feel 1,000 times better.
p.s. For all you Pisces out there, there's a great roundup over at Just My 0.02 Cents about what to get you favorite Pisces for their birthday. I thought it was pretty great since a) I'm a Pisces and b) Magical Mind is featured as top pick! Thanks so much Sholeh for featuring my natural perfume!

Hope you are feeling better soon...doing taxes is certainly no fun, but one of those things that must be tended to.
Getting a new hair cut always makes me feel better when I'm under the weather...sounds like you had a great experience and what a wonderful thing to win in a giveaway.

hope your days of numbers are going well. the beginning of the year could always be stressful with numbers and deadlines, but thanks to the internet we can find distraction and inspiration all the time

Feel better soon! Being sick is never fun -- at least, it's not as much fun as when I was a kid. Try and get a bit of sunshine this weekend and try to relax.
I can completely relate about unfortunately letting the beauty regime be the first to fall by the wayside when I get busy. However, as soon as I do something for myself in that realm I feel fabulous. Mind over matter I guess.
Being a fellow Pisces myself, I hope you have a good birthday, whenever it may be.
