room with a view: charlotte's bright and happy nursery!

I've always loved the stationary Christina, of Just Call Me Chris, designs, so I had no doubt that the nursery she designed for her new baby Charlotte would be special. Today we get a peek into this warm and fun room!

We're just renting, so I didn't have the option to paint the walls. Since the walls, carpet and furniture are so light, I wanted to add as much color as possible with everything else. I was going for a whimsical, fun room that will be able change with her as she grows.

I picked a palette of pinks, greens, and yellows that will be easy to add to as her interests change. I made the bird mobile from this pattern. I wasn't confident enough in my skills to dangle it over the crib, though, for fear it would fall on top of her while she was sleeping.

I got the tree decal on Etsy. It's the first vinyl decal I've applied, and it was so easy that Hudson even helped apply most of the leaves. I spray painted the frames yellow and I designed the alphabet print to match the decor. I had my heart set on doing a print of her baby footprints for her wall...but slathering her feet with hot pink paint (non-toxic & water based, btw) was a little more of a challenge than I imagined. The other prints on the wall and the party poms in the window are all from Etsy.

I found the simple pink lampshade and tied a bow around it to make it special. My sister made the toy box and my grandfather (Charlotte's great grandfather) made the rocking horse. I still have a few projects in mind for the room: pillows for the window seat, for one.

I love so many things about this room: the light, the whimsical decor and the cheerful colors. My favorite thing about the room, though, is that so many of the things in her room were made by people who love her.
Thank you Christina!

This is just STUNNING. Honestly, I'm in college and I kind of want to take up residence in this nursery myself! Such amazing work.
And congratulations to Christina - Charlotte is beautiful!! :)
What a sweet nursery Christina! How lucky to have such a big beautiful window seat in her room. And you did a great job adding color without painting the walls. Charlotte is such a cutie!

And thanks, everyone for your nice words. You sure know how to make a girl feel special!
If Charlotte is intersted, I have two handsome suitors waiting in the wings for her. She's just darling. Mom did a fantastic job with her nursery. It's feminine, sweet and pared down. Lovely indeed.

The baby is super cute! :-) I love the wall design and the color of the frames is perfect to the wall's tone
Those giant poofs are awesome! And the tree and the clock. This is seriously an awesomely cool nursery.
I've had you in my Google reader for some time now and I always am so in love with your posts, but for some reason (I'm blaming it on my massive homework pile), I haven't wandered over nearly enough to sing praises. That will all change, most definitely.
I absolutely LOVE the room! Decals are such a great idea for a quick change. They offer a major impact without the annoyance of painting. That is the cutest baby I have ever seen btw!
