beautiful & great{ful} monday give-away!
Monday, February 15, 2010

Another Valentine's Day has come and gone and hoping you had a good one whatever you did! Please come in because I want to catch up with you and talk about how beautiful you are. What? You haven't even had a sip of coffee yet and I'm talking crazy. Hope you like this yummy cappuccino that I made just for you, and notice the spoon? That's so you can stir in a little sweetness--because everyone needs a little sweetness on Monday! Alright, what's this all about? Last week's grateful giveaway got me thinking about a few things, like how I want to get back to my original goals for TrustYourStyle. Do you know that almost every Eye on Style submission I've received over the past few years has arrived with some sort of apology? Even stylish women don't feel beautiful/wonderful enough. That's why when I asked you to tell me something wonderful about yourself last week, your comments meant so much to me! Here is what some of my readers had to say:

I volunteered for an animal shelter for many years as a teenager. During that time I adopted three handicapped cats who were at risk of being put to sleep. One was deaf, one had only one eye, and one was completely blind. They are still with me today - Snowflake, Morgan, and Sloopy. :)

One thing that I like about myself: the fact that my baby belly is rosy and growing!

Something wonderful about myself: I'm really patient (most of the time). :)

As for one thing about myself that I like, I am very objective and rational when it comes to relationships.

Something wonderful about myself is that I have a huge heart, as well as a great capacity for forgiveness. Wow... it's hard to write something like that without feeling like I'm bragging...
To quote Marianne Williamson/Nelson Mandela, (I know the debate on that is endless) Who are we not to be great? You never need to apologize about your goodness and greatness! And because I think you're very good and great, I want to give you another chance to practice bragging about how wonderful you are and in the process a couple of you {that's right, there's going to be 2 winners now!} can win my new Natural Perfume {which I think it pretty great!} You can chose either a Magical Mind mini roll on on or a mini version of You Make Me Happy. There will be two winners to spread the sweet smell of beauty around!
All you need to do to enter is leave a comment here telling me something wonderful about yourself. If you told me something wonderful about yourself last week, your comment will be rolled into this give-away, but don't hold back, tell me more and I'll give you a second chance to win! If you're new to TrustYourStyle, you can also earn an extra entry by following me on Twitter or Google Friends {both buttons are on the top right hand side of this page} and then let me know you're following--I will check and give you an additional entry!
Can't wait to hear all about how *beautiful, good, and great* you are!

I've worked in non-profits ever since I graduated from college. My jobs have included working in a battered women's shelter, staffing a rape crisis line, being a counselor in an abused children's home, and (currently) helping homeless women towards self-suffiency. The work is hard and the pay is crap (not to mention the bureaucracy is frustrating), but everyday I go home knowing that I made a difference in someone's life...and that makes it all worth it.
When asked by my friends to describe me in one word they say TRUTH.
I would also say Loyal, Giving & Integrity.
Great post Mary Jo
I don't twitter anymore but I do follow you through blogger....
As for what I think is wonderful about myself...my sense of humour. No matter the situation I find that laughter makes it all more wonderful. I laugh at myself quite a bit and encourage others to be comfortable in laughing along with me. I know it can break the ice, it puts people at ease and it shows them who I really am...right down to my heart.
I must say, something wonderful about myself is the fact that I smell good thanks to you! I just got my cocoa flora perfume and my boyfriend and all of the people sitting around me in class, asked me what I was wearing. I put it on right before class as a little test. Everyone LOVED that it was natural too!
Gorgeous post, darling!
Love that illustration and all the lovely quotes from our fellow bloggers!
Something wonderful about me? I am creative!

Oh it's always a bit hard to brag but I suppose it doesn't really count as bragging when it's just a matter of expressing what I love about myself.
Overall, what is beautiful about me is that I have an open attitude with people. I don't tolerate people who judge so harshly and think better of people.
Everyone oughta be more happy and welcome joy in their life.
Okay, I guess I'd have to say I have a HUGE heart when it comes to animals. They will always find love and a good scratch behind the ears when they meet me. Especially when it comes to dogs. I don't know what I'd do without them.
Hmmmm lovely!!!
Sooo something wonderful about myself . . . I'd have to say my passion. For some reason it doesn't just effect me, but is infectious around me. I love how my excitement for things in life can rub off on others to give them excitement to pursue fun, creative, adventurous avenues themselves.
Thanks girly!
Thanks for entered my giveaway!
Good luck!

Something wonderful about me . . .
I keep taking risks as I enter middle-age.
Something wonderful about myself...I laugh at my five year old's knock knock jokes...even after the tenth straight time!
The most wonderful thing about me today: I don't talk poorly about people behind their backs.
It's a little thing, but it's important.
I have an ability to empathize with others and acutely feel their joys or sorrows. Though it may be a wonderful gift, it sometimes leaves me with sensory overload! I wouldn't have it any other way though.
I'm a follower via Google Friend Connect!
I'm following on Twitter (@sazzyfrazzy)! Thank you for this giveaway!
I have an innate ability to connect with even the most dorky/nerdy/engineering types. I sometimes end up as a translator for them to "normal" people.
I also LOVE the fact that I'm tall! I'm "do you play basketball" tall - six feet!
I love this post because it's wonderful when we all gather to put attention on the most important person in the world - oneself.
I'm WONDERFUL because I always TRY to freely show myself, even through embarrassment, pain, sorrow, love, care, joy, and all of the emotions that I'm s'pose to tuck away. Most times I fail but luckily sometimes I pass. I know that even if I "breakdown" - (the kind of breakdown with teary eyes, snot filled nose, puffy rosy cheeks, full of emotions), my mind is still brilliant and my thinking is still significant. My every fiber is whole and good.
The most wonderful thing about me is I Have a bubbly character that (I hope) it's infectious 'cause I love to see people smile. It makes me happy! =D
Oh my word! Audrey is one of my favorite artists! I saw her work at artist showcase here in Vancouver, about two years ago, and completely fell for her and her style...
Like Tamara, people seem to comment on my enthusiasm. I see this as a positive, because enthusiam and positivity are healthy and necessary in both business + life :)
Thanks, Mary Jo, and good luck to all!
You know you make me feel so good to rethink and pen down the goodness in me..We are all God's creations so I feel he has passed on his goodness in some form or another in each one of us. We just need to identify that, right? The best part about me is the fact that I am genuine at heart, genuine at loving someone, passionate about doing something..when I say I love... I MEAN it!
I try and see the good in everything around me..It's like holding up a white paper with a tiny black dot. While most people see the black dot as the only thing, I stare at the vast whiteness.. :)
Hey Mary Jo..love your giveaways!
