According to Business Week, Americans spend $41 billion on their pets a year, about four times more than we spend on movies, video games, or music. What with $430 indoor potties, $30-an-ounce perfume, and $225 trench coats for pets, the sky's the limit. The Standard & Poor's industry analysis says that while people are more likely to cut back on energy and home furnishings, the pet luxury business will not be hurt by the recession.
