closet confidential give-away!
Tuesday, November 10, 2009
Sorry for the late post today but between re-shooting my bag line and developing some new projects, things have been a little hectic around here the last few days. To make it up to you I have a nice little give-away for you. If you've ever freaked out when you opened your closet brimming with clothes and shreiked "I have nothing to wear" then this is the book for you.

Closet Confidential (Style Secrets Learned The Hard Way) by Winona Dimeo-Ediger covers everything from how not to get pressured into buying thousand dollar shoes to how to shop for jeans while retaining at least one-third of your self-esteem. Plenty of basics like belts, tops, blazers, foundation, bags, accessories, and how to cram your style into a suitcase are covered, but my personal favorite is this tip: What looks great on Charlize Theron while the rest of us should probably keep our shirt on? Answer: Blazer + lacy bra.
It's not a big book but it covers just about everything about getting dressed. If you'd like to win a copy, just leave a comment below telling TrustYourStyle what your best style secret is.

I'm really curious to browse through this! Sounds (and looks) like a lot of fun!
My style secret... Right now I guess scarves. A big, floral pattern scarf can add chicness to even the blandest outfit!
dress age appropriate. and wear what you love, don't follow a trend.

This looks like such a fun book. Hhhmm style secret. I like to spend little money on staple solid pieces and splurge once in awhile on a pretty patterned top or skirt. Always ask yourself how badly you need what you just tried on helps too!
A well-fitted bra is a must. Believe me, I can tell that a person has a badly fitted bra through their clothes.
Play with pposites: something tight with something loose, something dark with something light, a conservative top with insane shoes. . . It's just more fun this way!
I'm loving all this style advice! Keep it up ladies and good luck to you all!

This book seems like such a fun read!
This may only apply to shorter women, but Forever21 has the best jeans for those in the 5 ft. range...I've tried investing in more luxurious jeans, but they just aren't the same. With forever21, I can buy jeans and not need to hem them!
Thanks for the chance,
Dyan

What a cool giveaway! My favorite style "secret" as of late has been to pair one contrasting accessory to my outfits, i.e. masculine watch with feminine silhouette, combat boots with A-line skirts, etc.
Sounds like a good and helpful book!
My latest style secret is to buy a cute and trendy coat that's not too expensive in a different color each year. This year I chose red. With a turtleneck (any matching color), jeans and black flats, I am ready to go shopping, or run errands. Take a look in the junior section at Nordstroms for ideas.
I have to go with fit and tailoring. It's all about you wearing the clothes and the clothes not wearing you. You can have the cutest coat but if it doesn't fit your size/body type, it's going to look off. I've learned this the hard way and often have to tell myself to put something down because it just doesn't fit me but looks great on the hanger. Oh wells. Cute site!
