For the past few weeks I can't help but notice as I cycle through all the fashion blogs brimming with the latest international fashion mag photos + breaking style news that lingerie is really coming forth as a major fashion & styling trend.

Over and over again you see fashion spreads with women completely ready to go out--hair, makeup, gorgeous shoes...sans pants/skirt. Or sometimes a skirt but no top. My feeling is that it's all about the need for fantasy in a time of uncertainty.

I did a little research and found out that lingerie is one of the last categories consumers stop buying in a down economy and one of the first to return when things get better. This would explain some of the prettiest lingerie I've seen in awhile hitting the market. Enjoy!

Named after a Victorian-era epithet (you'll have to figure that one out yourself) The Lake & Stars is easily my new favorite lingerie line.

what a gorgeous set of images--I love them all!
looooooving the lake & stars line!! i just recently discovered them, and am completely enchanted. i have to say, i've totally fallen for lingere again, so your theory must be right! ;)
lake and stars has been my fave for a while---there was a lingerie shop near my old office in manhattan and I would go and fondle the incredibly soft pieces. but I've never been able to convince myself to spend a lot on lingerie---i hang out in frumpy white cotton hanes and fraying bras. a sign that i need to nurture myself a little more, perhaps?
A good friend of mine has opened an elegant boutique here in Vancouver that sells stunning European collections: http://www.malena.ca
Check it out if you get a chance :)
Goodness, however did you find all these wonderful pretties? There are some remarkable naughty knickers in this bunch!
every single one of these images is gorgeous!
