i don't think it gets more colorful than this

This photo was on Kanye's blog. Yes, he has a blog and it's really great if you're into Kanye, as I'm sure you've gleaned by now that tys is--very much so, for reasons that I've talked about. Sorry to all of you who don't appreciate him the way I do. But really this post is about Karl Lagerfeld.
Anyway, I've never agreed to do that tag where you write/confess about your weirdest idiosyncrasies. I mean where would I start after the ocd? But today I'm going to give you one anyway: I heart Karl Lagerfeld. Big time. And yes, I've read "You'll Think I'm a Madman", which picks up where Karl Lagerfeld, Boy Prince of Fashion left off. If you believe everything you read, then KL is really snobby, mean, vain and cold hearted. Not to mention the whole ponytail, fan, dark shades and fingerless gloves thing. But then you learn about the way he works and works and works. And the brilliant, contiguous and prolific way he thinks: 'He said to me once, almost in a worried way, that he has to find out everything there is to know, read everything,' Lady Amanda Harlech, Lagerfeld's 'muse', says. 'The curiosity is ceaseless.'
But he really had me when I read about the house tour he gave the Guardian: The furniture, a mixture of antique and modernist pieces, was almost impossible to see, hidden under hundreds of magazines, CDs, photographs, promotional brochures and books, which lay in heaps spilling one very surface, including the floors. Scattered through the rooms were dozens of iPod nanos of every hue. Each one was loaded with songs that Lagerfeld listens to when designing his collections, which he does, he says, usually in the mornings, while dressed in a long white smock. Surveying the scene through his black glasses, Lagerfeld said serenely: 'Normal people think I'm insane.'
I get it. Not that I've had the honor of meeting him, but I feel that somehow I get his essence. That he lives on this earth at the same time I'm here, I consider myself very lucky.

I love 'em both! The word 'maverick' definitely comes to mind.
Remember how Karl used to be all pudgy and then he lost a lot of weight---like, a lot of weight? I wonder if he had to get a new white smock to fit his new, smaller frame, or if he just wears the old one and it billows a little more?
Surely a question for the ages ;)
Thanks Anne for backing me up :) My money on the whole white smock thing is that it's a new thing and has to do with a clean slate. Also when you're in creating mode you don't want to be distracted (remember the whole Perry Ellis thing?) But I'm just guessing...
