Today's Eye on Style guest is Brooke Giannetti of the lovely Velvet & Linen. I find something something so graceful and generous about the way Brooke writes about her work as an interior designer. I enjoy following her posts because they're not just a mass of photos of pretty places; Brooke always manages to fully to illustrate her point of view with examples of the beautiful homes she's worked on and cites plenty of resources to help those in renovation or re-design mode. As I suspected, she had an equally graceful take on style. Enjoy!

Wearing: These are my favorite Hudson jeans. They fit my ample bum (not shown. Lucky you!). They are definitely designed for a woman with curves. I love simple t-shirts. Splendid makes the best t-shirts and leggings. They feel like you are wearing nothing at all. I have lived in L.A. my entire life, so when winter comes around I am always COLD. So, sweater vests and White and Warren cashmere shells in classic colors keep me cozy. Since I go to muddy job sites almost every day, my cowboy boots, that I bought for half off at a Barney's sale, are as "dressed up" as I get.
Favorite designers: I love Missoni, Prada, Vince and Splendid. I own a couple of Missoni pieces that I can wear to any kind of formal event. My Prada pieces are tailored and classic. Vince and Splendid is what I wear every day. All of their pieces are comfortable and stylish.
Brooke on style: Style means knowing who you are. Your style should reflect your personality. I strive to have a style that is classic and beautiful. Classic style, like Chanel, Ralph Lauren and Audrey Hepburn, is always in style. I try to never buy pieces that are trendy unless they are really inexpensive. Most of the more expensive clothing that I buy, I see as investments that I will have forever.

I just LOVE Brooke and her blog. She truly is so generous with her thoughts and her spirit---just like you've said Mary Jo!
So it's no wonder that her take on style is a class act as well! Though I do have to disagree with her 'ample bum'...looking slim and fabulous to me, Brooke! Must be all that romping around in the mud that keeps you fit ;)
