after the tears
Wednesday, January 21, 2009

I don't know anyone who didn't cry yesterday. I was super indulgent and watched every last bit of inauguration goodness. It gave me a chance to catch up on all the housework I never seem to get around to and now the place is sparkling and filled with flowers. Today I am still overflowing with hopefulness and appreciation. Thinking of the past and the future. Being here right now. And this is what I'm thinking about fashion:
After all that talking about color blah blah blah for the last few weeks, I'm over it. Give me black. Straight up.

I'm ready for little black dresses (again) as long as they are super glam and super short. I've added a few into my new line. Great shoes to go with are a must.

I'm just really feeling the {this is glamorous} love today. P.S. always a fan of Marion Cotillard wearing just about anything!
Legs are good and need to be shown {in my new collection} and in real life too!

I want to have fun! Enough said.

I like my sequins a certain way

I made the mistake of mentioning to a friend over the holidays that I wanted a sequined dress. Not a tacky sequined dress, but a beautifully hand-sewn with burnished hammered sequins sequined dress...and she can't seem to stop dragging me over to hideous cheapy sequin dresses every time we go shopping. Darling, there are sequins and there are sequins, and you must learn the difference!
I never thought I'd says this (again!) but I find myself wanting a great motorcyle jacket.

Any one else find themselves re-thinking fashion ideas? Please tell!

Looks like you're back at full energy! How many days until launch?
Me? I just want to see the hat return as a staple of the man's wardrobe. So many great looking men in hats yesterday.
I agree, I'd love to see hats back in style. And if I had it my way, suits too. Within our life time, doctors used to wear suits and ties--some, bow ties to work (not that I'm a fan of bowties) but I love the formality. Even my dad, who was a developer wore dress shirts, pressed pants, and a jacket (tie if I recall). Now it's just polo shirts and dockers for most. What happened???
You are too funny. I love this post!
A stunning array, and something to seriously aspire to.
I'd like to start dating women who would wear outfits like these, go shopping with said women for these outfits.
Personally? I want to bring back suspenders. Unfortunately, I'd need to tuck my shirt in to wear suspenders. Which would mean my spare tire would be as apparent as if it were hanging off the back of a Jeep Wrangler. So I'd have to either get pants that fit better, or lose weight. Granted, I should do the latter, and I will most likely require the former regardless.
I love this post. And I absolutely know what you mean about sequins.
Thanks Chris, I was beginning to wonder...

Oh I remember that dress, Anne! It was on my wish list until I fortunately forgot about it...until now. Do you think it will go on sale any time soon? Probably not. It would look fab on you, with blond hair!

a motorcycle jacket has been flitting through my mind, too. maybe over a sequined dress? i'm loving the mix of tough and tender.
