eye on style: julia lintern

I fell in love with Julia Lintern's beautiful bespoke coats this summer, so much so that I had to order one for myself (the Alexandria). Although we have never met in person--welcome to blog-land--I knew Julia had to have great style--enjoy!

Julia Lintern:
Occupation: coat designer
Wearing: Black gore skirt by Anthropologie, a fitted black jacket with tails (one of Julia's ..) and red S. Madden Heels.
This is what Julia had to say about style:
I equate style with opportunity. An opportunity to transform – Maybe it's all those days I spent cooped in a cooperate office...At the end of the day I would grab my bag stuffed tight with 'my change of clothes'. I would inevitably run into the ladies room downstairs and transform!
A friend once said that there are 3 things that can alter a women's mood almost immediately: music, chocolate and a change of clothes – I think she's right!! Ultimately, I think style is the vehicle (or the means) you that you can choose to put yourself in the right mood, whether it's a mood of comfort, a mood of beauty, a mood of 'moodiness' .. whichever! Style helps us achieve this!
Alexander McQueen is simply my favorite designer. He is masterful in his ability to balance the dark and the beautiful - which feels very emotional and raw to me. His work also seems to reflect an immense imagination that I think is very rare, in not only fashion, but all design.
Thanks Julia for stopping by!
