eye on style: meli from bikes in the city

Meli in the newly renovated plaza around the Jewish Contemporary Museum in Yerba Buena Gardens.
True to the real reason I started tys, I've decided to start Eye On Style, a regular post about people who trust their own style. To me, Meli is a really great first pick--her blog, Bikes In the City, (a personal fav) is about riding her bike around in SF, drinking coffee, and all the people and places she encounters in the process.
I had to ask if she actually wore the boots in the Bikes In The City banner while riding her bike. This is what Melie had to say:
Yes, those boots are one of my favorite pairs. I wear them often. It has been a little hot here for boots, but the pedals on my bike are pretty comfy (& so is the bike itself) so they accommodate most of my shoes to stroll around the city.
Meli's style:
Style to me is observation. I love color, I love feeling feminine. Knowing what you feel comfortable with is key, you can't look good without feeling good. I get my ideas from many places and I just mix them all together. I love watching films, my favorites are by Hitchcock, David Lynch and Almodovar. All three have a constant color theory and gorgeous women that inspire me. I'm currently in love with the show Pushing Daisies.
I have also been an avid blog reader, and it always amazes me seeing personal styles and what other people are liking around the globe. This is also how I came across your blog, I think I loved a polyvore collage of yours. It is a wonderful tool to connect with people that share the same passion with their own view. The dress (I'm wearing) in the picture is by local designer Sunhee Moon. Often I just stumble upon things around the city and if it is within reason, I get them.

Often I take ideas from the runway and adapt it to my daily life, which often includes a bicycle. I love high heels and I love skirts. One of the latest collections I instantly adored (for spring 09) is by Easton Pearson.
Thanks Meli for stopping by! If you are a trustyourstyle reader and know someone with great personal style that you think would be a stand-out feature for Eye On Style, email me at trustyourstyle@gmail.com or you can click on the Contact button on the left side of the index. Have a great weekend!
