The Labrinth at Golden Door

I'm back in my room after the farewell ceremony tonight. I spent every possible moment enjoying the last classes and spending time with my new friends. I'm really going to miss them!

I wish I could express more than just my day's activities--everyone here has experienced a shift in how they feel. Some came to shed a few pounds, get back in shape, or just rest. Everyone looks and feels better and happier. My day started out with a 6 am hike followed by Tai Chi. I'm new to Tai Chi, but I've enjoyed it so much the last few days that I think I will try and take more classes when I go home.

In addition to the daily activities, there were also fantastic private sessions available all week ranging from acupuncture, aromatherapy, counseling, dream interpretation, energy balancing, hypnosis, pilates, tennis, plus all sorts of in-room specialty treatments such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lomi Lomi, Hot Stone or Thai massages not to mention Reflexology, Reiki, Water Therapy, and more. Annharriet Buck, the Stress Management Consultant, was highly recommended to me and I had a session with her a few days ago and have felt better ever since!

Today I branched out and tried a few new classes--I loved the ballet-tone class, and wish I had tried it earlier in the week. Now I am not usually one to dance around like I'm in a Broadway chorus line, but Yuichi Sugiyama, a renowned choreographer and Golden Door legend put us through our paces today in a special class that I really have no words to describe--he never stops smiling or moving and it's impossible not to laugh the entire time. After lunch I had a scalp massage, followed by my daily massage in the room. For some reason I decided to take a kundalini yoga class afterward and promptly fell asleep, but at least I got a great nap.

The evening ended tonight with a candle light ceremony at the Labyrinth and tomorrow morning all of the guests will begin departing.
