Hello everyone, I meant to check in again last night, but after a full morning of hiking, then yoga, followed by a tranquility facial, sauna, a whole hour by the pool reading the paper(!), lunch, a workout with my personal trainer, and then a 3pm massage in my room--I fell asleep and missed the rest of the afternoon classes. Which is perfectly okay (thank goodness!) at the Golden Door. I kept thinking I would get up to attend the introduction to the Labyrinth, or at least make it to appetizers and dinner, but I just couldn't seem to fully wake up. I ate a quiet dinner in my room, read, and slept in till this morning.
It was the best rest I've had in a long time, and so full of energy I moved up to the 3 mile hike this morning, which was slightly more difficult and gave me the opportunity to see more of the beautiful gardens and terrain here at the Golden Door.
After I finished the hike and did the cool-down stretches, I went to a Dream Analysis class. Apparently I was the only one whose schedule fit at 7am, so I had the luxury of having Tricia Kelly all to myself. As some of you know, my father has been very ill the past few months and I haven't been sleeping well. I've also been having lots of dreams, so it was wonderful to sit and talk with an expert. Tricia has worked with dreams as imagery of present and developmental states of being for the past 20 years. Her interpretations are drawn from myth, spiritual tradition, Jungian philosophy, and intuition. Best of all, she teaches a class in Laguna Beach, so I hope to attend more of her classes in the near future.
I'm off to my yoga class now, followed by a facial, watercolor class, and personal training. If I don't fall asleep, I'm hoping for more time at the pool. There's all kinds of other wonderful stuff on my schedule--Feldenkrais, Meditation, Sacred Treasure Boxes, etc. but I'm just aiming to make it through the "How To Get Happy" class. Doesn't everyone need to get happier?
Hoping all of you are having a happy summer! Meet you back here on Day 3.
