The word that comes to mind after perusing the latest Resort 09 runways is pretty. Carolina Herrera, who just received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award from the CFDA, had one of the most elegant and breezy collections.
Donna Karan came out with a bevy of boudoire pinks and ribbons. Such a surprisingly pretty twist from her!
Michael Kors also had a really great collection. I loved all of it, especially the prints that looked like the inside of rough-hewn gems and tie-dye pieces. For me, his jet-set American look never worked better and I like his limited pallet of black and jewel tones plus the hit of gold in his accessories.
Oscar de la Renta sent some brilliant turquoise fashions down the runway and is my pick for the prettiest lbd ever.
Last but not least, nobody makes black work regardless of the season like Chanel. The collection was clean and chic.
