photosynthesis

The abstractness and the feelings photos can evoke are interesting to me as a designer. I've found one of the best things to do when I'm overloaded with fashion info and just need to recharge creatively, is to look at scores of photos from some of my favorite photo sites on flickr. It's an endless source of inspiration and when you literally look at the world through other people's eyes, it somehow takes your mind to a much fresher place.

This photo by Anniebee has been making me happy forever it seems. I've had it on my rotating screensaver for a few years and realized that at least one of my new designs actually bears a little resemblance to it. Without giving too much away, I thought I'd show you a detail from one of my new clutches.

If you believe the color forecasters, hot pink/fuscia is supposed to hit big in Spring 09, but I'm already seeing it everywhere!

p.s. You can click on the above photo if you want info on any of the products

As I was perusing some of Anniebee's latest photos, I came across this one entitled "Almost Summer". How perfect! It suits my mood for clothing and accessories too.

Here's my "Almost Summer" inspired montage:

Finally, I came across Anniebee's photo "Only", which also struck a chord. The more I think about it, I really feel this pale pink frosting look is going to be an emerging color trend in fashion.

Usually I'm not a huge fan of pale pink--it feels too washed out--but in the wake of the saturated colors that are going to be everywhere soon, it's a nice contrast, don't you think?
