Box letter cushions available at The Yvestown Blog Shop

Today I'm very happy that Yvonne Eijkenduijn of The Yvestown Blog, has dropped by Trust Your Style from the Netherlands. I love Yvonne's site as well as her truly unique and wonderful style and magical home. Hope you will too!

mj: How would you describe your own style--fashion as well as design?

yvonne: I love all kind of different styles, Swedish, English country, modern, brocante, kitsch and my husband likes antiques so we just put everything together and made it a style. I also really like real honest products like cotton and wool and try to wear that a lot. Humor and color are very important to me too as well as in design as in fashion.

mj: I just love looking at photos of your house--did you have the whole concept in mind when you moved or did it just evolve?

yvonne: I tried to listen to the house. We basically had to start from scratch because the house was so badly looked after by the previous owners. I went for a base of whites and let it evolve while we were working on it.

mj: I know I'm not the first to ask you this, but Cath Kidston--how did you first get hooked on her? What about her work inspires you?

yvonne: I read an article about her in a magazine and liked the colors so I went to her website and fell in love with it. That was in 2004 just before we bought the house so it was perfect timing. I like English country style and I grew up with a mother who was a Laura Ashley addict but I always thought Laura Ashley to be quite girly. Cath Kidston has that Country charm but it's more for cool girls. It goes very well with modern furniture (the old patterns) and the colors she uses are so vibrant and they match so well.

mj: What are some of your favorite projects that you've completed? I love the things in your etsy store (The Yvestown Blog Shop), do you have more new things coming? Please tell...

yvonne: I'm sticking with the box letter cushions because I really enjoy making them and they make me happy. I still have so many more templates to make so they'll keep me occupied. I'm also working on exciting projects with two of my favorite blog friends. More of that on my blog soon.
