This weekend I stopped by the opening for Richard MacDonald to view his Larger Than Life works that were premiering in Laguna Beach at Dawson Cole Fine Art. MacDonald continues in the tradition of Da Vinci, Rodin, and Carpeaux through larger than life-size bronzes. Two of his latest works were unveiled during the opening. They were truly grand and I'm so glad I was able to attend.
It was a big turn out and Mr. MacDonald's son and daughter in-law, Richard and Ariane, the owner/directors of Dawson Cole Fine Art threw a beautiful party. For more on Richard MacDonald or to contact the gallery go to www.dawsoncolefineart.com.
I'd planned on writing a bit today about my rare and wonderful experience touring the Wayne Thiebaud retrospective with guest curator Gene Cooper, but I have come down with the flu and will have to come back tomorrow to fill you in.
