rhapsody in blythe!
Monday, November 26, 2007

This gorgeous book filled with 160 pages of the overwhelming world of Blythe arrived this weekend in my mailbox and of course it will be going in the special shelf in my office reserved for my growing collection of gorgeous Blythe books. I wrote tons about Blythe last year, and eventually ended up designing a Blythe doll for the annual Blythe Fashion Show in Tokyo. (Click here, here, or here for more on my Blythe scoop.)

But in case you're new to Trust Your Style, super model "Blythe" is more than just a doll. "Blythe Rhapsody," the latest in the Blythe photo book series after "Blythe Style," 2005 and "Blythe moment," 2006 will be hitting the stores in Summer 2007!
Gina Garan, the official Blythe photographer, and Junie Moon have combined to take photographs of over 100 Blythe dolls styled and customized by many different artists around the world for the 5th anniversary event "Darling Diva" in summer 2006. This year, the finalist dolls from the first Blythe beauty contest in 2006 and catalogue format of the 80 dolls that will be exhibited in June for the 6th anniversary charity event "Princess a la mode" fashion show are also included.

I was stunned to see the Blythe that I designed for last year's Darling Diva show photographed in close-up in the new book, and like a proud Mama, I have to show off her Red Carpet hair and makeup! Red Carpet hair: Barry Reitman of Juan Juan, Beverly Hills. Eyelashes by makeup artist Michelle Garbin. And of course dress by me (MJM).

Cwc-i also generously sent me this fabulous "Let's Go Blythe" dvd, a documentary filled with special interviews, animations, and exclusive footage of the 5th annual Blythe Charity Fashion Show held in Tokyo, Japan. If you love fashion, this is a must-see that will pull on the fashion heartstrings of even the most jaded fashionista. Love!
