fashion week and more

Ah, so much is happening, where to start? First I want to thank Samantha Hahn, who interviewed me recently and created these beautiful illustrations around my bags. It's running today at Maquette. Thanks so much Samantha, they are lovely!

Yesterday afternoon this gorgeous little box arrived from Germany. Edward B. Gordon sent me his catalog "The First 200", an overview of the remarkable first 200 daily paintings that he's been doing as a thanks for the interview I did with him last month. The paper and colors in the catalog are unbelievable; it's like a mini work of art and I am going to frame it!

And now, on to the inevitable: New York Fashion Week for Spring 08 is in full swing!

Yellow has mellowed, but is definitely staying for spring 08. I love how it's evolved into a lemon sorbet/marigold. Top two photos are from Rachel Roy, Bottom row: Vena Cava and Nicole Miller.

I am not going to be covering Fashion Week with as much indepth detail as last time, which is a relief because honestly, I need to find a couch before the rest of my furniture is picked up for reupholstering. Sadly my beautiful 90 inch sofa won't work in the room, which has a doorway right in the middle of the wall where it needs to go, and there just aren't a lot of options for 79 inches--but if you know of any, please tell! Earlier this morning I ducked into the Laguna Design Center for the first time. It definitely has a point of view--very fine living meets Palm Beach--which is great, but not exactly what I'm going for.

Still, I couldn't resist making a quick stop into Scalamandre. Some of their textiles are heart-stopping and although too much of a good thing can be, well exactly that, I think this textile house is a classic.
