Sorry for the late post today, but things were kind of hectic around here. First I found out that I won't be covering Fashion Week because the sponsor pulled out. Then I got a parking ticket for not parking between the lines (story of my life). Finally, as I headed to a meeting with my business partner, I read via my blackberry that the luncheon with Nina Garcia I was hoping to attend had been canceled. Ugh, one of those mornings. But I always say three bad things in a row means something good is about to happen.

Leap of Faith by Richard MacDonald
The good news is that we had a little extra time to kill before our meeting and were able to check out Dawson Cole, a beautiful gallery on Glenneyre Street in Laguna Beach. Ariane MacDonald, the gallery director and daughter-in-law of artist Richard MacDonald, graciously showed us around. It's quite a stunning space that opens out onto a beautiful outdoor area featuring Richard MacDonald's sculptures. There were also some large pieces by Chuck Close and paintings by Jian Wang, who studied with Wayne Thiebaud. I can't wait to attend their next event slated for November.
