golden bucket bag on sale for $29.00!

Bringing you a little sparkle:

I always love those fun pieces that if you're lucky, you stumble across post-
holidays; pieces that cheer up a closet full of dreary, tired winter clothes and take you right into resort/spring/summer. Here are a few really affordable goodies I found at Newport News that will add sparkle to your February. In addition to the cute little bucket bag above, I thought you might like:

gold tunic sweater, $49

This tunic dress and the top below both look so "Palm Springs weekend" or you could just wear them out for a fun night on-the-town...

Silver tunic-length blouson, $49

And now for the sting:

If you've ever wondered what Beauty editors really do, I thought I'd share a slice-of-life experience I had today.

I'm working on several beauty columns simultaneously for Affluent Magazine, so Kalologie Skincare had invited me over to meet owner Tracy Brennan, who gave me a quick overview of her gorgeous one-stop shop--a place to get great skin care products and treatments, and an educated staff who will recommend the strategy best for you. Stars like Jessica Alba, Eric Bana, Selma Blair, and Felicity Huffman frequent Kalologie and I can see why. It's very pretty, chic, and pleasant inside and the treatments go far beyond a regular spa. There are board-certified dermatologists who administer anti-aging treatments like Botox, as well as permanent hair removal treatments, peels, facials, acne therapy, brown spot treatment, a glycolic hand treatment, sclerotherapy, brow shaping, and waxing--phew! There's a lot to do there!

Since I have my mother's fair English skin with a tendency to freckle (instead of my father's flawless olive skin), I opted for the photo facial. In the able hands of Ann, the photo-facial specialist, I submitted to an extremely stingy experience, however, it wasn't really painful, more like someone was flicking your face with rubber bands--not a feeling you would voluntarily submit to, but in 5-7 days the worst of my offending freckles will disappear. The real sting is if I will have the discipline to go back three months in a row to get the full effect. I'm going to try!

Before I left Tracy gave me some very wonderful product--ReVive moisturizing renewal cream and the brand new ReVive masque, which hasn't even hit the market yet. I can't wait to try everything! Thanks so much Tracy! And thanks also to Michael Rogers and Dina Fierro for making all the arrangements!

Tory Burch store on Robertson

On my way out, I had to stop next door at the Tory Burch store. I've written about her line a few times--when she first started doing all those great tunics, and then a bit during this past NY Fashion Week.

Tory Buch "Jamie thong"

Curious, I ducked in and immediately fell in love with these little retro sandals. I liked the bright yellow patent, but couldn't find a photo. As you can see from the red version above, they're very cute!

More later on the Oscar/Red Carpet Beauty-Mobile, which I will be experiencing in the morning.

I love those sandals. Just enough touch of red.
