If you're like me and need to recharge your batteries, try clicking on Jon Lo's Happy Mundane. The tone is light and fun and instead of rehashing the latest and greatest stylish feats being covered every which way by the other design blogs--Jon always has a fresh and quirky take on something happily mundane. I love that he finds beauty and enjoyment in everything from dish soap to the chairs at Taco Bell. Not to mention that we're both eerily obsessed with cool notebooks and all things gray. Go figure.

A lot of what I read, write about, and design myself is crazy expensive. Which is why I love Jon's brilliant blog. He seriously scours everyday places like Target, Ikea, Kmart, Sears, and Walmart, pointing out stylish finds that can be had for super affordable prices.

Happy Mundane is high on my list of favorites because I don't think there's any other blog out there doing it. And by it, I guess I mean, Happy Mundane is a reminder to notice the greatness of simple things, which is always the most inspirational in the end.

P.S. Jon is also a woodgrain nut and co-writes another one of my favorite blogs, It's (K)not Wood, dedicated to the appreciation of all things "faux bois" (fake wood).
